Welcoming culture
Welcoming culture is an attitude that is characterized by friendliness and openness,
Expresses respect and tolerance and that newcomers are “welcome”.
Furthermore, it accompanies the new arrivals on their path to integration. It does not stop at
on the doorstep with “Welcome”, but actively invites participation with “Come in”.
Welcome to the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg
A region worth living in with an open, democratic society - that is how the Waldeck-Frankenberg district sees itself. Immigration and cultural diversity are a benefit - also in terms of demographic development. Everyone must make their contribution to a good coexistence. No one should be disadvantaged on the grounds of ethnic origin, gender, religion or ideology, disability, age or sexual identity. This process is supported and accompanied by the district.
Get to know us through the INTEGREAT app
The INTEGREAT app promotes integration by presenting and bundling local information relevant to integration in multiple languages. It helps people who have just moved to the area to find their own way around topics such as work and education, first steps in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district, language, family, health and leisure. Integreat supports volunteers and full-time employees in the integration sector to make it easier and faster to find relevant contact points.
Welcome to Hesse
Newcomers, local international employers and communities can find support at the WELCOMECENTER Hessen, and integration guides can accompany them on site if required. Advisory centers also help with the recognition of foreign diplomas and professional qualifications. Internationality is lived in Hessen, including when it comes to securing skilled workers.
Make it in Germany -
Find your way in Germany
The dual training offers you very good chances of getting a job and is therefore particularly popular with German schoolchildren: around two thirds of all young people who leave school go on to do an apprenticeship. You can find out here what requirements you have to meet to start an apprenticeship in Germany.
youth migration services
Around 500 youth migration services (JMD) nationwide support young people with a migration background between the ages of 12 and 27 through advice, education and leisure activities. One focus is on long-term, individual support for young people on their educational and professional path.
A highlight is the app JMD-apply, which supports the application process.
